Offshore wind farm Hollandse Kust Zuid inaugurated

The offshore wind farm Hollandse Kust Zuid, owned by Vattenfall, BASF and Allianz, is located in the North Sea, 18-36 kilometers off the Dutch coast between the towns of Scheveningen and Zandvoort. The 139 turbines have a total capacity of 1.5 GW, making it one of the largest offshore wind farms in the world. The wind farm is expected to be fully operational in 2024. BASF will utilize about half of the generated electricity to supply several production sites in Europe – and thus reduce the carbon footprint of the products.

Together with Vattenfall and Allianz, BASF has inaugurated one of the largest offshore wind farms in the world: Hollandse Kust Zuid. The subsidy-free wind farm with 139 turbines and a total capacity of 1.5 GW will be fully operational in 2024.
